"write protected" warning with root

Post by *_hunter »

Greetings,

I recently updated my tablet onto Android 7. Got root. Checked that "Root functions everywhere" check-box. But every time I delete (for example) some file on my external card -- I'm getting that warning dialog that my card is write protected and I need to select a folder in another dialog. Every time I press Cancel in that warning and my file got deleted.
Is there some way to get rid of that warning dialog once and for all?

Best regards...

Try using the pre-release version, it should prefer the root functions if they are available:

Thanks ghisler :D

This fixed the same problem for me. However, it didn't work if I just clicked through the link you left above. It said Beta was installed in the play store but the version number in the app itself was still the public stable version.
I had to manually uninstall TC and then install the Beta. :D

??? The beta test is long over, the current version in the play store already includes all the fixes. I guess that just reinstalling fixed the problem for you...

Oh, I see.
The app store still says that I'm a Beta tester but TC says that I have the latest (2.80) installed. Is that ok?

(Can't post links yet so I had to edit the addresses a little)

Yes, currently there is no newer beta version than 2.80 release.
