Connect call failed! with curve25519-sha256@libssh.org

The server I am trying to connect to offers:
22/tcp open ssh
| ssh2-enum-algos:
| kex_algorithms: (1)
| curve25519-sha256@libssh[dot]org

but I get:
Connect call failed!
TransportException: Unable to reach a settlement [diffie helman blah blah] and [curve25519-sha256at@libssh[dot]org

replace [dot] with .

You need the current beta of the plugin to use encryption with elliptic curve 25519. You can join (and leave) the beta program here:
