Select files and folders by clicking beside the name?

Post by *peter35 »

When the option 'open files and directories with a single click' is selected is it possible to select files and folder by clicking beside their names and opening them when clicking on the name?

At "Configuration - Options - Operation" for Mouse selection mode just enable option "By clicking on icon"

Now you can
- select the entry by clicking on icon
- open file/folder by clicking on name

I know about this option but it is not the same. I just have used to select files and folders by clicking beside the name in FreeCommander but i guess Total Commander doesn't have this feature.

TC doesn't support selecting files using "empty" area between file name and extension, overall file name/details rectangles have the same size in contrast to e.g. Explorer where short names have more space for selection and it is harder to aim on them.

It depens:
1. If you use right mouse button selection mode, you can right click+drag to select files.

2. If you use left mouse button selection mode, you can left drag (not just click!) from behind the file names to draw a selection rectangle over the files.
