Shortcut for date when (re)naming directory through F7?
Hello,
I googled for it before asking, but it doesn't look it's available.
When creating a new directory through F7, is there a keyboard shortcut to add the date (preferably as YYYY-MM-DD) ?
Thank you.

No there isn't. Either type
<[d]
yourself, or press Alt+"+" (numeric keypad) and then scroll down to the right item and press Enter.

Create Folder with current date
You can use the new TC v9.10
viewtopic.php?t=48695
That comes with a new feature for your wish:
"New folder" (F7) can now use the same placeholders as the multi-rename tool
(e.g. date+time "<[YMD]"), and create multiple directories in one step using a counter.
For your case use: <[Y]-[M]-[D]
The next day you can find that command in the F7 history.

Maybe better create a user defined command
to execute a DOS command
to create a new file/folder with current date in current active panel.
Next you can assign them a keyboard shortcut.

I can have this by default
in placeholders this format is not available and not even in the plugin
example:
Test date 2017.11.21 21.18.00

example:
Test date 2017.11.21 21.18.00
Code: Select all
[=tc.creationdate.Y.M.D h.m.s]

Yes, just put < in front of the line, otherwise TC will create a directory which is literally named [=tc.creationdate.Y.M.D h.m.s] instead of e.g. 2013.04.08 14.57.12. But it will take the creation date of the file under the cursor!
To create a directory with the current date and time, use this instead:
<[Y].[M].[D] [h].[m].

I wanted this option to appear default in the placeholder panel without rewriting it manually each time

It remains in the F7 history once you have used it once...
