Strange LAN plugin problem

Post by *ab13a4k »

Hello,

I am using TC on Android since few months. I never had any problems with LAN plugin but I changed my phone. I set everything up in exacly the same way on the new phone but it does not see any folders shared on my PC.

On default settings it tries to connect and then it stops. When I turn off SMB2 I get notification:
"Failed to connect: 0.0.0.0<00>/192.168.1.249/_Share

Strange thing that everything works great on my old phone. And ideas how to fix it?

This means that the phone couldn't even contact the given IP address. Maybe you have some kind of firewall which is blocking the access. Or the phone is connected to a different WiFi subnet.

No firewall and I have only one wifi net on 5GHz. All three devices are in the same net. Nexus 5x can connect to my PC but OnePlus5t can not.

Try a ping app to check whether the phone can actually reach the PC.

I did it. It does reach my router but does not reach my PC. Any idea how to fix this?

Make sure they are both using the same WiFi password. If not, then they are probably on different subnets and cannot see each other.

Also make sure the assigned IP addresses are in the same subnet. For example, 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2 are in the same subnet, but 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.1.1 are in different subnets.

Both devices use the same password.
My pc IP is 192.168.1.249
and OnePlus ip is 192.168.1.129

So in theory everything should work... but it does not.

Thank you for trying to help but I think I will have to get use to the fact that for now I can't use this function on my smartfon :(
