default view //resets when opening a new TC

Post by *JimmyTheBroker »

Hi guys,

I have found that TC keeps reseting back to a particular view (regarding the panel splinter positioning) whenever i close and re-open TC, how can i customize this positioning? I probably want it 50/50, currently its showing only the right panel, 0/100

thanks,

1-- Configuration - Options - Operation - Save on exit: ... |_| Panels (brief/full, etc.)
1-- Ticked or unticked? ... probably not checked ...

2-- Button with command: cm_50Percent gives 50/50 view, see also: viewtopic.php?p=337141#337141 (petermad)
3-- Double-click on separator-line gives 50/50 view

4-- Check if you have a View Mode with Auto-run commands: cm_100percent --> change it to: cm_100percent|cm_50percent
4-- |cm_50percent -> that means, that 50/50 view is applied when you leave this view mode

Configuration - Options - Operation - Save on exit: ... |_| Panels (brief/full, etc.)
All ticked

2-- Button with command: cm_50Percent gives 50/50 view, see also: viewtopic.php?p=337141#337141 (petermad)
3-- Double-click on separator-line gives 50/50 view
Already done both of those before. Currently i need to push a button for 50/50 every time i open up TC.

You've lost me on 4.
I've searched the TC help(F1), seems like view mode should be in the configuration menu? But i am unable to find it. Closest thing I can find is Config > Options > Edit/View

I think point 4 will not apply in this case (my mistake).
This point is interesting if you use View Modes or Auto Switch Modes.
- Configuration - Options - View Mode (under "Custom columns") | menu "Show" - "Custom View Modes"
- Configuration - Options - Auto Switch Mode (above "Language")

At the moment I have no other idea,
execpt: Do you use different wincmd.ini's? -> See "Help" - "About Total Commander..."

Btw, which TC version do you use?

Next step would be to start TC with a clean.ini...

I did change something in:
config > change file settings directly
I copy and pasted out the Customfields to make a backup of my column views.. I could have accidently deleted something
