When I tried to open Total Commander in Windows 10 laptop, I got a message that I do not have needed permissions to open it. I log in always with administrator permissions to Windows.
I can not understand what is the problem. I have used Total Commander before in my laptop many times. I installed Multicommander and it works, but I prefer to use Total Commander. I think it happened after an update.

Check menu Help > About Total Commander where your wincmd.ini is located. If it's in a location where you don't have write permissions, like "\Program Files", it's normal that TC shows that message. To correct it, use IniReloc (see http://www.ghisler.com/tools.htm#other) or install TC over the existing one and select the default location (%AppData%) for wincmd.ini during setup.

This can happen when you run Total Commander with higher user rights, "As Administrator", but you don't have these rights on that PC.
Solution:
Just don't start Total Commander with higher user rights:
1. Right click on the icon by which you start Total Commander
2. If it is the icon in the task bar at the bottom, you need to right
click AGAIN, this time on the menu item "Total Commander"
3. Click on "Properties"
4. Click on "Advanced" and uncheck "Run as Administrator" if it's checked
5. Go to the "Compatibility" tab and also uncheck "Run as Administrator" if it's checked
6. Close and re-open Total Commander
