"The ESC key seems to be stuck" when Moving file

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

"The ESC key seems to be stuck" when Moving file

Post by *amach »

I'm facing a lot of errors like this

Image: https://i.imgur.com/M4nKOty.png

when moving one or more files from one side to the other one using F6 shortcut and pressing “Enter”. It seems the dialog box is receiving two “Enter” keystrokes and the next one is forwarded to the "doing" dialog box, thus pressing the “Cancel” button.
If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10.9)

TC shows this error when a check for "ESC pressed" returns true.

Do you use Total Commander in a virtual machine like Vmware or Virtualbox? This can happen when ESC was pressed and then the context was changed from or to the VM. Then the VM may think that ESC is still pressed, while it is not. The other possibility is a bad keyboard, where the ESC key really gets stuck.
