Windows 10 April Update and TC interface
Hello everybody, so I'll probably sound crazy here but I'm used to it, so no biggie.
After each Windows Update, something changes and my Total Commander (which I've been using since Windows 95 at least) doesn't look the same.
I mean, the fonts are the same, config is the same but something gets reset in Windows which changes how fonts and sometimes icons appear.
Does this happen to anyone else? I seem to remember there was a single setting in Windows causing this, but damn me if I can remember where to find it.

I haven't seen this happening after applying the April update. But it's known that Microsoft is resetting some user settings after each update.

I have set the System fonts and metrics manually by editing the Registry - and I have to restore those settings every time Windows Install a major update (annoying).
So export these keys from the Registry to a .reg file, that you can doubleclick to restore your visual settings:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\Colors]
and perhaps
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VisualEffects]

It was a registry setting actually, although not from the keys you've listed.
It was a setting which Windows deleted and I always use, which forces Windows to read an external Manifest file (if there is one) to DPI-scale an application.
You can find a description of the setting here:

Anyway, all is well now, although I had to create a Virtualbox VM with an image of my pc from a week ago to remember the setting .

Yes - It is annoying when the Windows updater changes valid registry settings!
Also be aware of backing up changes you might have made to the right-click menu for the Start-button - The updater might change that too (C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WinX)

Yes, so far I haven't encountered any problems with the Spring Creators Update (April 2018).
