Search bug?

In a directory of files when I search for the simple word 'the' then TC (9.12 64-bit version) doesn't find all the files containing this word. When I open one of these omitted files and do a search inside, then the word exists.
These are searchable pdf files.
I've tried all sorts of combinations when searching in this directory. Is there something I can do?

PDF files do not usually contain plain text, they contain instructions for a PDF printer to put letters on screen. In some cases, the words are placed as a whole, then they can be found. But in other cases, the letters 't' 'h' and 'e' are placed separately, then they cannot be found as a word. Furthermore, PDF supports compression.

Solution: Use a content plugin like xPdfSearch or PCREsearch.

They can be used directly in the text search field now via checkbox "Plugins" and the "+" button.
