Thanks for the videos!

However, no matter what I do, which TC version (8.52a, 9.20b3) or test program I use, which Windows version (7 and 10 v1709) I try, clean wincmd.ini or not, WER enabled (and running) or not, running in a VM or not - my desktop is not refreshed.

And I can't remember of ever seeing such behavior on my clients' systems either. There must be some other factor(s) relevant to trigger this refresh. Question is, how do we find it/them?

Regards

It must be caused by some Windows setting. I tried with a clean account, and didn't see any flickering, even after changing most of the Windows settings, I usually change.

Agree, searching the web, return apps such as Google Chrome, Citrix, WebEx as well as numerous other apps as we have(or not) seen here.

I tried the Icon cache refresh a few times and although it seemed to work for the first few times, it really give very inconsistent results.

Found this on Microsoft:
"Open Task Manager by pressing the Ctrl + Shift + Esc keys on the keyboard at the same time. If that doesn't work, right-click the Start button in the lower-left corner of your screen and then select Task Manager.
If Task Manager doesn't flicker, an app is probably causing the problem.
If Task Manager does flicker, a display driver is probably causing the problem".
Could be related to a more continuous screen flicker issue.

Not much help; but it can explain why we all have different experiences.
