Drag and Drop Copy not Working

Post by *LamarM1 »

I've searched for this problem and haven't found any new or recent problems reported. Starting with 9.2x TC drag and drop copy function from one window to another only works sometimes this includes both local copy and FTP copy. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Running
Windows 10 Version 1809 Build 17763.253
TC Version 9.21a X64

Are you running TC as Administrator?
Windows does not allow to drag from a program started as normal user to one started as administrator.

Hi,
I have the same problem. Since the update with Windows 10 drag and drop does work sometimes and sometimes not. I have also seen, that when I use the TC command to make a network connection it is then visible only on the TC menus and not on the file explorer from windows. The same vice versa, if I mount a drive with the menu under the windows file explorer it is not visible under TC.

Thats all not related to TC but features of Windows 10 you will have to learn.
You can't drag and drop from normal programs to programs running with enhanced rights.
Drive mappings are user related and not common accross users (there is a registry setting to prevent this).

Just don't start Total Commander with higher user rights:
1. Right click on the icon by which you start Total Commander
2. If it is the icon in the task bar at the bottom, you need to right
click AGAIN, this time on the menu item "Total Commander"
3. Click on "Properties"
4. Click on "Advanced" and uncheck "Run as Administrator" if it's checked
5. Go to the "Compatibility" tab and also uncheck "Run as Administrator" if it's checked
6. Close and re-open Total Commander
