Post by *DrShark » 2019-05-07, 18:03 UTC

This is a message from an moderator (Sorry, needed this first post for my welcome message)

To report suspected post and users, use the "!" (report) button in such a posts,

or just wait till moderators will delete such posts and ban the user. They're quick 8)

If you want to discuss some post first, you can write here in this thread.

Please also take Hackers' advice into account, thank you very much :D

I speak only for myself now (if other moderators do not share my view please chime in),
but please don't report suspicious posts immediately, only if no moderator notices them after, say, two days.

It only adds to moderators' work because apart from reading all posts anyways, they have to double check reports,
then they find the posts are (usually) already deleted and the user banned and then they have to close the user's report. It just triples the work.

Thank you for understanding.

nateliv is a spammer who used offtopic posts to get the right to post spam links, and this user already edited own posts to include spam links.

Instead of replying to clearly offtopic posts, use "!" (report) button in such a post to report it as suspicious to ghisler.ch administration, or just wait till moderators will delete such posts.

Well, it's me who insists on moderating all new users - I'm already tired of reporting spam. This is the first non-trivial case here, but still stupid enough for Hanlon's razor.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

It wasn't immediately, it was after the third reading, like in a parliament ;-)
