Hi guys..im new with total commander.. so here is my problem :
I was trying to removed a picture files from my phone using TC 2.91 for android and it is located in "user-defined location" that i cannot view, delete,or move.. my question is wht user-defined location is? And where it actual location on the phone..?

Im.using samsung s10+ running android 9

*note : this file i'm trying to removed is a jpg files that i downloaded using chrome but i couldn't find it anywhere on my phone using default file manager yet it showed and can be edited if use any image processing apps, so i turned to total commander and then found the file but still can't do anything with it.

User-defined locations are virtual folders which you add via the line "Add user-defined location" with the blue "+" button. This is meant to access secondary storage like USB flash drives if they don't appear in the regular file system.

You shouldn't use that for accessing internal files. Instead, go via the first link in the home folder, usually pointing to /storage/emulated/0

Hi sir..thanks for the reply but this was the problem, i couldn't locate the file on /storage/emulated/0 folder or any folder in the phone, but yet it always showed and can be edited if i'm using any image procesing apps which means the files are on my phone storage somewhere, and when im using TC it showed on the user-defined location as u describe but i couldn't do anything, i tried to delete, moved or copied them else where and it didn't work..
How to delete this user-defined folder completely?

Where exactly does it appear when you click on "Add user-defined location" and browse through the file systems?

It's on the "donwload" folder and there are also a preview of the pictures there, but when i select the file, TC ask to rename the folder, and when i rename the folder TC create a new folder just below the user-defined folder and when i open it the preview of pictures are gone just the name of the file with the document icon in it, and i can not do anything with that files, when i try to delete it always failed, when i tries to move or copy them to another location it's always just shown the file name but with 0kb content so cannot open them either...

Ps. I also cannot find those file anywhere in the file system

Strange, the "download" virtual folder is usually the same as the directory /storage/emulated/0/download

Yea i tought so too, but i've looked everywhere, the file wasn't there, yet i could open it via any image processing apps, this problem first appear when i donwloaded the file via chrome and it wasn't appear anywhere, i tought because i didn't give it permission access to my storage, but after i give it permission the file still didn't appear anywhere and yet i still can open it via any image processing app... any tought on how to find or delete those files?

Thanks

Sorry, no idea. Have you tried using the search function in Total Commander to find it by its name?
