Write Error copying any file to OneDrive with the TC OneDrive plugin

Post by *DAC324 »

Hello all,

for quite some time (must be around one or two months) I always get a write error when trying to copy ANY file from an Android phone (Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge) or an Android Tablet (Medion LifeTab S10366) to my OneDrive.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Log in to One Drive on one side of TC (works without problems)
2. Change directory to the Downloads folder on the Android device on the other side of TC
3. Select any of the downloaded files and choose "copy" or "move" to OneDrive

The copy or move process starts, the progress bar goes up to around 80%, then an error message saying "Error writing target file" occurs, with options "OK" and "Cancel". If "OK" is chosen, a zero-byte file with the name of the file to be copied is created on OneDrive. If "Cancel" is chosen, no file is created on OneDrive.
As the very same file(s) can be uploaded flawlessly using the OneDrive Android app or a browser, the error clearly lies within TC and/or the OneDrive plugin.

I also tried uninstalling/reinstalling TC and the OneDrive plugin, and also tried TC 3.0 beta, all with no luck.

Is there something I am missing or some setting I will have to correct?

Thank you very much for your help in advance and kind regards,

I don't what is wrong in your setting but there is no generell problem with this.
I can copy or move files without problems from my Samsung S8 Android into my One Drive folders
using TC 3.0b3 and its Windows Live OneDrive plugin.
Windows 11 Home x64 Version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3447)
TC 11.03 x64 / x86
Everything 1.5.0.1371a (x64), Everything Toolbar 1.3.3, Listary Pro 6.3.0.73
QAP 11.6.3.2 x64

Thank you very much for this information. I re-checked and found that the error does not seem to affect all files but mainly *.apk files. I could copy *.PDF or *.DOCX without error but at least no *.APK files.
That's even more strange to me. Is there something in the TC OneDrive plugin blocking certain extensions?
As already said, there are no problems copying *.APK files using the OneDrive app or a browser. Hence, there must be some limitation within the TC OneDrive plugin.

I can confirm it now.
Copying an apk file reaches 100% but then terminates with an error message.
Other files have no such problem.

I can confirm the problem too, but it also happens with other big files like pdf. Microsoft must have changed something in the upload function. I will investigate.

After the actual update of the plugin copying apk files are working again. :D

Thanks for confirming the fix! The plugin uses a different upload method for files >1MB which allows to resume uploads, and was suddenly getting error 400 and 401 errors from the servers.
