What if you use simple text files?
With text file (*.txt) renaming I have the same behavior as with image file (*.jpg) renaming in
- TC 9.22a 64 bit
- TC 9.22a 64 bit -> TC_clean_x64.ini

Exception confirms the rule:
Another previous test (.jpg ) did not switch to Quick View for Image2 after renaming Image1,
but only from picture3 (after renaming picture2) with TC_clean_x64.ini.

According to the tests I made, I would say that it doesn't always work for me even in the 64 bit Version in 100% of the use cases.

TC_clean_x86.ini - (*.txt)-Renominations:
Renaming of 3 files with Quick View: Quick View is not updated for text file2 and text file3
Fourth file: Quick View update (!)
5-7th file: Quick View -> No update

Could you use files with mixed extensions for tests? It's possible that TC doesn't refresh quick view when moving from one file to another file with the same extension.

If you meant me by that - nothing has changed in my test results with mixed extensions (.jpg, .txt), and that for:

Code: Select all

- TC 9.22a 64 bit ) i.e. after renaming and cursor down
- TC 9.22a 64 bit -> TC_clean_x64.ini ) Quick View is updated (as listet above).

- TC 9.22a 32 bit -> TC_clean_x86.ini > only in rare cases Quick View is updated
That concludes my test series until further notice.

16.10.19 Release Total Commander 9.50 beta 1
02.10.19 Fixed: In place rename (Shift+F6): Update quick view contents (Ctrl+q) also when just switching between files
with up/down arrow without renaming anything (32/64)
... this works but does not fix the above mentioned problem ...

64bit
In a few cases, an empty panel (timing problem?) was displayed in the right window instead of the Quick View/Picture,
otherwise everything works as Hacker wanted it.

32bit
Strg+Q, SHIFT+F6
Move cursor up/down -> Quick view is updated (9.50 beta 1) -> OK
Move cursor up/down + change file name -> Quick view is often not updated -> Timing problem?

From the moment a file is renamed in Quick View, Quick View no longer works correctly.
Examples:
- Cursor on 4th file - Quick View: image still from 1st file
- Cursor on 4th file - Quick view: image from 3rd file

In order to get the correct picture in the quick view I would have to proceed currently as follows:
Ctrl+Q, SHIFT+F6, Rename, Down, Down, Up.

For testing I used .JPG files with file sizes of approx. 20 - 470 KB.
Also tested with a TC_clean_x86.ini.

21.10.19 Release Total Commander 9.50 beta 2
21.10.19 Fixed: In place rename (Shift+F6): Quick view contents (Ctrl+Q) were sometimes not updated
when actually changing the name of a file (32/64)
All problems (32 bit and 64 bit) are solved with TC 9.50b2!
Thanks a lot!

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
