Compare directories

Post by *RM8MR »

I think, that Mark -> Compare directories works bad, when I compare two directories with one file with same name but different size (or same size but different date).

On the image you can see file with name "ccc.ert" in both panels, but in one panel is file selected. I hope this function should compare only by name not by size or date.

Sorry but a compare only by names is useless for any normal usage, at least for me.

If compare by size or date is correct, so it should selected the file in both panels. Not only in one panel.

From your picture it's clear that ccc.ert in the right panel is newer than the one on left side. That's why it's selected. If they had the same date and time, probably both would be selected (though I'm not sure).

Compare directories uses size, name and date to compare the files. The help describes it like this:
Compare directories

Compares the contents of the source and destination directory. Newer files are selected. Files missing in one directory are also selected in the other. Only newer files are marked, not all differing files
