Sorting By Camera Date

Post by *Alonzo Mosley »

I have some pictures that have a camera "Taken Date" that doesn't match the Date that shows up in the TC Explorer window (i suspect because they've been emailed and copied and such, it's picked up a write date somewhere). I need to sort by time taken... But I don't find that anywhere. Is there a plug in that will help with that?

Thanks!

Yes, use the Exif plugin and create a custom columns view around it.

Thanks!

(I think I had that plugin installed before I had to reformat my HD last month... Cool beans. Thank you)

Hm. Doesn't sort videos taken from same camera, just JPGs. Trying to sort my entire directory in Date Taken order - video and stills both. Oh well. This is better than what I had before.

Well, every file type has its own metadata, EXIF in case of JPGs, ID3 in case of MP3s and so on.

That said, you could try ShellDetails plugin which allows to use the same columns as in Explorer.

Working on it. Further compounded by the fact that I was in a different time zone. The photos (taken both on a camera and my phone) are time stamped with the LOCAL time; the video I took (on my phone) is stamped with my HOME time (although the file name has the local time in it).
