Hi folks,
I have two external USB disks.
I can drag and drop a file from Total Commander to (for example) the desktop from one disk............but not from the other!
Any ideas?
I guess it's got something to do with permissions, but i've no idea where to look or what to change to fix this.
Thanks in Advance!
I'm on Win 8.1 x64

Hi Dazzer
Probably that other disk was in use on another PC and have stored the permission for user-id's from that PC, instead of from your current PC.
To solve that, right click the folder in question (or the top level folder) and check the rights.
Give MODIFY rights to the group USERs of your current PC (LOCATION). (depends on your environment and what you need)
(For that action you will need elevated-Admin- , or at least Modify-rights)
Best google for more info first, f.ex:

( change .#/ to .com/ )

Re: Can drag / drop from one USB disk, but not the other??!!
Thanks! ....... the problem seemed to be with a file back-up app (Second Copy) which was running in the background. When i exit this app, i can do what i want!
Re: [Solved] Can drag / drop from one USB disk, but not the other?
Nope, actually not solved, there's some weirdness with TC.
I want to post a couple of screenshots from TC, but i can't work out how to attach an image in this forum, is that possible?
Anyway..........
Here are a couple of screen shots.
Image: https://ibb.co/DDnK6sb (browsing V: drive)
Image: https://ibb.co/jDCnBLF (browsing X: drive)
you can see two external USB drives, X & V.
You can see that when i'm browsing V, there's an extra upper case "V" after "v:" but when i'm browsing X there's no upper case X after x:
And also, in the image where i'm on V drive, the tab above still says "X"
Perhaps this is related to my problem?
Any ideas?

Re: [Solved] Can drag / drop from one USB disk, but not the other?
Ok, i'm an idiot, i thiiiiiiiiink i found the problem.
The button at the top that was taking me to V had "cd v:/" as its command.
I changed it to "cd v:\" and things seem to be working normally now.
Fingers crossed................
