[solved] Connect Android to shared folder on w10: Error "DNS lookup :445"

Post by *kiwigi »

Hello Members
I have tried to connect my Android(stock Oreo) to a shared folder on W10. Some months ago I had a working connection and due to flashing Oreo I lost it.
When I enter a new connection I use for:
Server: the IP address of PC
Server name/directory: PC IP address:445/C:Users/XX/Desktop/SharedFolder
User name:username
Password:password
I get; "Getting Directory" "lookup :445", "DNS lookup :445", "SMB lookup :445"... and then it closes without result

Can anyone help me to solve this connection problem?

Thanks

Are you sure you entered a valid IP address? There should be no DNS/SMB address lookup when you enter a valid IP address, only when you enter a server name. Valid IP addresses look like this:
192.168.0.1
