Feature Request: Autosizing Columns
I have a directory with very long filenames. So, I set the TC pane width to 80/20, so I could see the entire file name. However, I had to manually resize the columns and set them back before I resized the panes. It would be nice if there was an option to have columns automatically resize to use the available space (but not to use more space than was needed).

Check "Adjust Tabs to window width" under configuration-tabstops and switch to vertical view (cm_VerticalPanels) when needed.
To resize all columns when you have changed them manually you'll have to restart TC so it's a good idea to make a button with Reload TC, too.
CTRL-Num+ for autoresizing like in Explorer would be nice, right, but as ghisler has chosen to ignore all threads concerning that feature you'll have to live with the workaround.

Hello !
¤ It should be a nice option, I support that request.
* As a workaround, I use (you know this certainly) the option Display >>> Show file-name in file list as tooltip if truncated- that does the trick for me, and avoids to change the panel-widths average… though it's quick-made using the local menu on the panel-separator stripe.
Kind regards,
Claude

It's still used for 'select all files' (same as [Num+] and '*.*' in the dialog.)icfu wrote:CTRL-Num+ for autoresizing like in Explorer would be nice...
