TC9.50B4(x86) Dark mode: scroll bars in "Verify Checksum"

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

TC9.50B4(x86) Dark mode: scroll bars in "Verify Checksum"

Post by *HolgerK »

X86 only.
- File->Verify Checksum (from checksum files)" for multiple files
-> The vertical scroll bar is not dark in dark mode

You reported about many not dark-themed scrollbars.
I also reported by email about such scrollbars in TC's plugins configuration dialogs.
Christian Ghisler in email replied following:
Christian Ghisler wrote:Currently only very few listboxes have been changed to support dark scrollbars. It's a LOT of work, so I will probably not be able to change all the listboxes, sorry.
I think it means even if eventually all scrollbars will get dark mode support, it won't be soon.

I cannot reproduce this bug report. Both x86 and x64 versions have a dark vertical scrollbar in the listbox.
However, the up/down button in the 64-bit version isn't dark here, I will fix that.

Btw, I will try to support more scrollbars over time, but I cannot promise anything yet.

Could it be that for some reason (maybe difference in graphics-driver or dwm.exe "desktop windows manager, File version 10.0.18362.387") the same effect (additional resize) like from my bug report about cm_CommandBrowser dialog triggers the brighter scroll bar in x86 here?

the up/down button in the 64-bit version isn't dark here, I will fix that.
Didn't notice this (no verification failure) but after mention this i have to say that the x64 version without button border and slightly lighter hover effect looks better for me.
BTW: the same difference (border and hover effect) in up down buttons exist also in non dark mode in TC9.22a x86<->x64.

I don't see any difference here between TC9.50B4x86 and TC9.50B5x86 (W10-1903)
- Vertical scroll bar is still bright (also after a resize)
- Still a 3D frame around the (dark) up/dwn -Button
- UpDwn button hover effect is notable different compared to x64: when entering/leaving an area of the button it becomes first black on black before fading into gray on black.

As i never noticed this in w10x64-1903: Was this fix for a specific windows version?

Yes, it was for older Windows versions. I can confirm the bright scrollbar in TC 32-bit on Windows 10 1903.

Fixed with TC9.5beta6.
- Still a 3D frame around the (dark) up/dwn -Button
- UpDwn button hover effect is notable different compared to x64: when entering/leaving an area of the button it becomes first black on black before fading into gray on black.
This is still a notable difference in TCx86 compared to the x64 version here (W10 pro x64 -1903 / TC9.5beta6 x86):
- 3D frame around the up down buttons in the left bottom corner of the dialog (condition errors found).
- Hovering with the mouse from the up arrow to the down arrow, the complete button gets the background color before the highlight color illuminates the down arrow(and vice versa).

Unfortunately I couldn't find any reason for the 3D frame in the 32-bit version. The scrollbar is defined EXACTLY the same as in the configuration dialog, uses the same control, and the same properties. Therefore I will have to move this to "will not be changed", sorry.
