TC9.50ß9 Scroll Inactive File Compare Window

Post by *mp »

Hello,

In Windows 10, there is a new mouse option to scroll inactive windows when the mouse pointer is over the inactive window.

This feature does not work in the Total Commander internal file comparison window.
That means, while Total Commander main window is the foreground window, the file compare window does not scroll when the mouse cursor is over it.

This did not work in earlier versions either.

Would be a good thing to implement while in beta.

When the file compare window is started as separate process (totalcmd64.exe /s=c [file1] [file2]) it is working.

Thank you

I cannot find such a function in Windows 10 1909 or 1803. Maybe it's a feature of your mouse driver?

It's a Windows feature (an annoying one for me because it has some side effects). You can find it e.g. here: https://www.thurrott.com/windows/windows-10/2435/windows-10-tip-scroll-inactive-windows

Confirmed fixed in TC 9.5b10 64bit but not in 32bit under Windows 10 1909

In 32bit TC 9.5b10 it is only if it is the originating TC main windows that is in the foreground, that the scrolling doesn't work. If it is another instance of TC or any other program, then it works

Thanks, I didn't check the case where TC itself was in the foreground...

This also applies to Lister windows opened from 32bit TC 9.5b10 under Windows 10 1909

But it does not apply to standalone Find Files dialogs.
