Colorize onnly last edited file

Post by *bogordo »

Hi,

Is there an option to colorize (within Define colors) only the last edited file inside a folder? i ask because i tend to change names between savings (name_v1, name_v2, name_v2_mod, ...) and sometimes is difficult to view fast what's the last working file (i could sort by Write date...but not so visual/fast)

Was thinking would be amazing to say "ey, colorize only the last saved file inside this folder" :o :?

Not colorized but very helpful.
This button jumps to the newest file in current dir.
Ein passendes Icon nach dem einfügen in die Buttonbar selbst definieren.

Code: Select all

TOTALCMD#BAR#DATA
cmd.exe
/k "for /f "usebackq delims=" %%f in (`dir /b /a-d /o-d`) do start "" "%%COMMANDER_EXE%%" /O /S /L="%%~ff\:" & exit"
C:\Tools\Wincmd\Icons\Down-Blue.ico
Newest File

You need the following for this:
1. Plugin Age 1.04
    Double click on file "wdx_age_1.04.zip" to install this plugin.
2. Saved search, e.g. Modified_within-last-3-minutes
    Plugin: age | Property: Changed | OP: < | Value: 3 | Minutes* --> adjustable!
3. Colour definition
    Configuration > Options... > Color > Define colors by file type... > Add... > click on "Modified_within-last-3-minutes", OK
    Choose a colour, e.g. blue > OK > OK > OK - FINISHED!

See also:
viewtopic.php?t=50011
Refreshing a panel doesn't reset 'age' highlight colouring
I use a button with command: cm_GotoPreviousDir,cm_GotoNextDir,cm_RereadSource for this.

It is not exactly what you want, but also very helpful.

*EDIT: I'm sorry, I forgot to specify the parameter "Minutes".

Thank you, first method is working really nice with files (not dirs).

The plugin method is working, but the color i define is overwritten but another color filter by extension, even that the plugin color is at the top...

EDITED: my fault, plugin is working fine, i thought the "3" value were minutes but looking into the .ini i saw are seconds :)

Best regards,

If you don't need high time precision, you can use "Define colors by file type…" and define selection for files/dirs not older then 0 (zero) days. It works properly when put on the top of the color list.

Here is what I use to mark files younger than 1 day and younger than 1 hour:

Code: Select all

[Searches]
Age < 1 hour_SearchFor=
Age < 1 hour_SearchIn=
Age < 1 hour_SearchText=
Age < 1 hour_SearchFlags=0|000002000020|||1|0|||||0000|
Age < 1 day_SearchFor=
Age < 1 day_SearchIn=
Age < 1 day_SearchText=
Age < 1 day_SearchFlags=0|000002000020|||1|1|||||0000|

[Colors]
ColorFilter1=>Age < 1 hour
ColorFilter1Color=16744576
ColorFilter1ColorDark=16744576,16744576
ColorFilter2=>Age < 1 day
ColorFilter2Color=16711808
ColorFilter2ColorDark=16744448,16711808

Thank you Peter, there you aren't using Age plugin, are you?

You forgot to put the "< 1 day" color right...?
(my coding language is terrible so not sure)

Correct - no plugin - just the featrures in the "Advanced" tab of "Find Files"
You forgot to put the "< 1 day" color right...?

Note that such a coloring is valid also for files/folders dated in the future (that is, with age less than zero).
