Totalcmd less and less fiable !

Post by *roedi »

Well many years ago Windows Commander now Total Commander was an excellent companion, crawling through the files and dirs, zips and bytes..
But in time became heavier to use since now is packed with things that are not useful or not needed, back then in his golden age was like King like
Nero Burning Rom was among the cd's.
But like Nero Burning Rom it faded when as Nero tried to pack and pack and add and get fat with utilities like a swiss knife to do more and more and much more...well you all know the result of Nero Burning Rom from King become a useless tool and got to the bottom of the list..
Now so it seems that the Total Commander did with success, from King of the file managers back then, now is just a pile of buggy, super buggy compilation..
Anyway i am here to be thankful for that golden age, as for this age well Double Commander is the new king among EF Commander, Altap Salamander,
Free Commander, Unreal Commander, Double Commander and Total Commander who once jumped like an lion from file managers but sadly fall like poop !

Wow, what a troll post. If you have a problem, then please describe the problem instead of just shitting on our software. Thanks.

No only a troll, I guess he also has no big knowledge about any of the file managers he mentioned.
And I have most of them installed :)

I prefer Unreal Commander as alternative.

Why would anyone need anything other than Total Commander?

I've been a registered user for more than 20+ years and wouldn't even dream of downloading anything else let alone installing anything else!

His post should be deleted - it's offensive!!!!

I think it's the nature of a troll to disrupt a forum.
If another 10 users answer anything now, then the troll has achieved its goal.

I would wait to see if he reports again.
If so, it would probably suffice if only the author or a user gave a corresponding answer.

Just my 2cents.

Don't feed the troll!

My 2cents:

In all fairness, I don't think this is a troll-post *at all*. Even the opposite.

This is someone who loved using TC in the past and regrets deeply that "they grow apart".
He/she even has the decency to tell why. You don't do that if you don't care; in that case you just uninstall TC and go on with your life.
This is a break-up letter of sorts.

I would be glad to get feedback like this, even if it is 'painful'.

The problem is that he doesn't tell us what is so bad in newer versions of TC in his opinien
That is for me the criteria to classify him as a troll.
TC is definitely not one of these tools which got useless fancy functions or graphic enhancements.
Its still a basic file manager with a lot of useful plugins to enhance its features and functions.
In one of my previous assigments we tested almost all populare file managers and we came always back to TC.
For this reason I still have installations of many other file managers (licensed and free).

The troll has probably reached his goal right now.

Or how would you call someone who makes such statements:
... now is just a pile of buggy, super buggy compilation.
... but sadly fall like poop!
without giving a hint of what he wants Total Commander to do or what he think other file managers can do better.

In any case, I will not feed this troll any further.

Well, actually he/she does: "But in time became heavier to use since now is packed with things that are not useful or not needed". To keep it in the relationship-theme: His girlfriend got fat/bloated :)

But @tuska is right: no need to spend any more time/effort on this. It does not change anything.

I just like file managers (I get treatment and pills against that, but that doesn't help :D)
I estimate that I have 30+ file managers installed.

NotNull,

No, he/she does not. Saying "some TC features are not useful" without saying which is completely useless, it's as informational as saying nothing.
