Getting SkippedFileCopy To work
Hi,
I'm trying to use SkippedFileCopy=1, But it doesn't seem to work -
To test, I've selected files that should have access denied on them (Opened by other program) at the top of the queue and try to copy - TC is giving access denied immediately and does not continue until I click Skip All..
Am I missing something here ?
Also, Abit unrelated - how do I permanently enable "Skip all which cannot be opened for reading" in the copy dialog ?
Thanks
Edit: Some relevant info -
Tc 9.51 final
I'm selecting overwrite all
Overwrite/Delete is checked
I've tested with SkippedFileCopy=100 as well and putting the problem files in the middle of the list, same issue.

Re: Getting SkippedFileCopy To work
The function is meant for users who walk away from the copying.
TC warns immediately if the problem occurs within the first 10 seconds after statring the copying.
This is necessary to catch the situation where no file at all could be copied, e.g. because the target is read only or full.

Yes I figured that, That's what I'm trying to use it for....ghisler(Author) wrote: 2020-04-28, 10:44 UTC The function is meant for users who walk away from the copying.
Documentation says 5000ms but I changed the value as well to SkippedFileCopy=100 and still the same.TC warns immediately if the problem occurs within the first 10 seconds after statring the copying.
Even so, I've created a copy that takes more than 10 seconds before it reaches the problem file (around 20 seconds) and the problem still occurs -Access denied immediately when encountering a locked file.
Tried on docx's and pdfs

Re: Getting SkippedFileCopy To work
Are you copying in background (F5 - F2)? It isn't supported there because TC cannot change the order in which files are copied, because they appear in the list of the background transfer manager.
You can use F5 - ENTER and then put it in the background, though.

Same with both variations - Foreground (with/out) Send to background, (as well as background - but good to know )
(My default is send to background on enter and F2 to forground - I'm trying the foreground method to troubleshoot)

Re: Getting SkippedFileCopy To work
Update: I can confirm the same issue happens on default/clean wincmd.ini configuration with SkippedFileCopy=101 added

Re: Getting SkippedFileCopy To work
Does the problem occur at the very first file you try to copy? Then you will get the prompt anyway, because the timer only starts with the first file.

Re: Getting SkippedFileCopy To work
No, It's down the queue. About 5-6 files later, and I'm making sure on every test that at least 10 seconds (of file transfer) elapse before it reaches the problem file
Note: Tested on 32/64 bit as well
