Question about SizeCheck=1 setting

From 4b INI-File setting of HELP:
SizeCheck=1 Check if there is enough disk space on target before copying

I took a try and didn't get any message BEFORE copying, no difference from without this setting.
I tested it with one biger file than target and with several files which total size is larger.
Did I miss any thing, or does it relate to any other settings?

It seems to be default SizeCheck=1 (even if it's not in the .ini file). In this case it first check if I have enough place on the destination disk and asks me what to do. If I put SizeCheck=0 to the ini file it doesn't check it but starts copying.
It works on my system (WinXP SP2).

Of course I restertad TC after the change.

Try to check the checkbox in Configuration\Options\ Operation\ Calculate space occupied by subdirectories\"before copying/deleting"
It seems to work even for single files.

AFAIK it checks before copying every file if there's enough space on the target drive for the file. Try to copy a 2 MB file onto a standard diskette. It should tell you there's not enough space. Or try to copy three 500 KB files. TC should ask you before copying the third one.

SizeCheck=1 should compare the filesize with the available diskspace. If they don't fit you get the message "Not enough free space on target drive. Continue?". So you have the chance to delete some temp files or something to continue. (And Hacker is right, if you copy many files the chek is done before the copy of each file, so you get the message when the filesize exceeds the available diskspace)

If sizeCheck=0 TC begins to copy and if disk space isn't sufficient you get only the "Disk is full!" Message.

should only be to show the second percentage bar (according to help) it is necessary to be set for the "Not enough free space on target drive. Continue?" message.

This seems to me to be a bug.

No, it still doesn't work as you could expect It calculates the space occupied by all the selected directories and you can see it but it warns you just before the file which is too big.

There could be an additional option like: "Warn about the lack of space on the dest. disk before the start of copying".

As workaround:

Before copying (just after selecting all files and dirs) press [Ctrl]+[L]. TC will show you:

Total space occupied (in files and dirs)
Actual space used (considering cluster size) on source drive
required on target drive
Free disk space of entire for source disc
Free disk space of entire for target disc.

It's not just a warning, but you can check by yourself if it fits.

Actually when you select files and folders, status bar will show the total size of selection. And target available space could be get from drive combobox bar. Just occasionally I forgot to check it out before copying, so an early warning would be helpful option for people like me.
