Program Ignores Keyboard input

I am running the program under Windows 10 (64-bit) on an AMD machine, but have run into the same problems on other machines. Periodically, the program seems to begin ignoring any input from selected keys on the keyboard--most often the shift key, the control key, backspace, and the delete key. These keys work fine on every other program when I switch over to them and try, so the problem is definitely within TC. The problem is typically only with the function keys, not letter keys. Mouse works fine.
