Suggestion: New Tab
When a new tab is opened, it will open in the same folder as the current tab.
That is the most unlikely folder you would need (you already have an opened tab with that same folder).
Suggestion: Make the opening folder for new tabs configurable, like - for example - every new tab opnes in C:\Tools.
Or even better: Show a selection of folders to choose from in that tab, just like internet browsers do.
In my file manager I configured it to show the (equivalent of) Directory Hotlist folders.

Re: Suggestion: New Tab
There are two buttons I have defined for this purpose:
- Open dir under Cursor in new tab (cm_OpenDirInNewTab)
- Dir to tab in other window (cm_OpenDirInNewTabOther)
But support for the idea to create a new tab from an entry in the directory hotlist.

Does Ctrl-D, Shift-Enter fulfill your needs?

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
Re: Suggestion: New Tab
Nice tip! Thanks!
I do use file managers mostly in mouse-mode (which is rather peculiar as I use most applications in keyboard-mode), but might help other people here. The suggestion was intended that way, btw: not for my personal use, but for general benefit.
I would do that in mouse-mode tooHorst.Epp wrote: 2021-02-28, 09:57 UTC - Open dir under Cursor in new tab (cm_OpenDirInNewTab)

Anyway, both answers are helpful (learned something new .. again). Thanks!
Re: Suggestion: New Tab
I learned something new

Using TC since so many years and still finding helpful functions which are there also since a long time.

Re: Suggestion: New Tab
I can add that Ctrl+Enter / Ctrl+click also opens the directory hotlist items in a new tab - just like Ctrl+click does in browsers like FireFox and Chrome

Re: Suggestion: New Tab
Yes, thanks. Already figured that out

Didn't post it, because there were 2 folders that opened in the passive pane and I wanted to figure that out first
.. until I realized this might be error-code "One D, Ten T" and I opened the hotlist configuration of those folders:
Command = cd to non-existing folder; Target folder configured. Yup, that explains it ...
Shift-Click / Ctrl-Click works well for me.
Thanks!
