Android 11: Cannot copy anymore from external usb stick
Since the upgrade to Android 11, it is no longer possible to copy files from an usb stick to an internal micro sd card. Is there any workaround for this problem? Thanks in advance!

Well, some more infos would be helpful:
Which version of TC are you using?
What is the brand name of your Android device ?
Do you have problems at copying to the root folder of internal micro sd card or to subfolders too?

Re: Android 11: Cannot copy anymore from external usb stick
Hmm, with my Samsung Galaxy S20 with Android 11, I have found that I cannot access the drive if I tap on the drive when it pops up in TC with a USB icon - when I try to grant TC access to the drive - I get the message: "It seem that you have chosen the wrong folder""
But if I add the drive via the "+ User-defined location" then it works, and the drive if presented with an SD-card icon.
And after that - if I remove the user-defined location, the drive pops up in the "root" with the USB icon again - and now I can access it directly - even after removing and reinserting the drive in my OTG adapter - or after a restart of the phone.
On my HTC One (m8) with Android 6, I always have to use the "+ User-defined location" function to acces an USB drive connected via the OTG adapter. Here there is no drive popping up by itself the first time a new USB drive is connected.
Notice my OTG cable is an old one with micro-USB connector, so I have to use and USB-micro -> USB-C adaper between the OTG cable and the phone - maybe that is why it doesn't work directly.

petermad,
Just a complete shot in the dark regarding USB-C adapters - I found some stuff works better if you rotate the USB-C connector by 180°.

To Ghisler - It you test this on Android 11, please make sure you use a USB-stick that hasn't been used in the phone before (is unregistered).
I Just tested that - it makes no difference - I still have to use the "+ User-defined location" approach the first time I access a new USB-stick.I found some stuff works better if you rotate the USB-C connector by 180°.

To subfolders, too. I use the "Microsoft exFAT/NTFS for USB by Paragon". Everything worked flawlessly until the change to Android 11...

Is it specifically copying that doesn't work? Or can you not see the files on the USB-drive at all?

Re: Android 11: Cannot copy anymore from external usb stick
This plugin cannot copy to virtual folders like \\\_SD-Card, only to paths like /storage/emulated/0. The creator would have to make some small changes to the plugin to support it.I use the "Microsoft exFAT/NTFS for USB by Paragon".

Re: Android 11: Cannot copy anymore from external usb stick
Ah... many thanks! So as long as the plugin is not changed accordingly, I first copy the files from the USB stick to the internal storage and from there to the micro SD card. Just checked it - works!
