Total commander internal text editor erases the content of a text file when opening it.
This happens intermittently about 5% of the time. I open the file by clicking on its previously created link on the home page.
My total commander is set to auto save files on exit.
In order to recover from the situation I have tried to close the empty file without saving it by using the three dot menu, but the file has already been wiped clean when it was opened.

Sorry, but the internal text editor of TC has no option to auto save files on exit.
Are you really sure, that your created link on the home page opens TC internal text editor ?

yes it is opening the internal text editor.
by AutoSave I meant that I have unchecked the "confirm saving file on exit" button under configurations.

Re: Android 12 Pixel 3: deletes file content on opening.
I completely uninstalled the app and all its data, then reinstalled from scratch. I have not seen the problem since then.
This might be a possible workaround to fix whatever was causing the deletion of the files. This problem only started after my phone automatically upgraded to Android 12.
