Arabic filename

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Arabic filename

Post by *qx87 »

I downloaded video with arabic letters in filename from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sL36V1FFhhU and tried to rename it automagically to add video duration into filename, but duration pasted before arabic: Image: https://imgur.com/a/zTZgmCx.

BTW, after such renaming Android TC shows filename as it was supposed to be: Image: https://imgur.com/a/yR59yzD.

AFAIK TC is right, Android is wrong:

Arabic is read from right to left, means it starts with افتتاح and ends with ر
It is followed by latin letters read from left to right means next letters are "The" ending with "Luxor".

Note: If you follow Arabic right to left all over it reads "roxuL ni eunevA xnihpS eht fo gninepO dnarG ehT افتتاح طريق الكباش بالاقصر "

You told TC to put the Duration at the end: At Arabic it means left of the "r" of "roxuL"

Well, Windows is so kind and writes Arabic text from right to left while english text is written from left to right.
This results in a mixed reading.
So TC puts Duration at the very end (after "r" of Luxor)
