Hello,
Today I had an issue finding files not containing a text in TotalCommander 10.00 64 bit.
My search settings are:
Search for '*.txt'
Find text 'printer'
Find files NOT containing the text: Checked
ANSI charset (Windows): Checked
The files are in a folder with many subfolders and several levels deep.
The Search results contained files that had the specified text.
Search & checked 'Find Files NOT containing the text' does list some files containing the text

Maybe the found files are unicode encoded?

That's my guess too. Try viewing the file with F3, then press "1" to switch to ANSI (plain text).

Hi Gral and ghisler(Author),
thanks for the reply.
Inspection of the specific files showed that encoding was UTF-16 LE with BOM. Activating Unicode UTF16 gave the correct search results.
Keep up the good work!
