How to filter directories?

Hi,

How to I create a custom filter that works on directories only?
If I manually select a couple of directories (using the Ins key) I can filter correctly by using the menu Show | Only Selected Files.
I want to create a predefined filter that does the same but I cannot make it work.
Could someone show me how to create a predefined filter that only shows directories labeled "*foo*" ?

That works for normal selection only. I want to filter the current directory so only directories that matches *foo* are shown

Not quite what I am looking for.
I can manually select a couple of directories and filter by means of the Show | Only Selected Files command. Since its the same directories I want to filter every time it would be great to create a Custom Filter and save it.
But it seems like it cannot be done. Ohh well. Find Files is not an good solution, it takes forever to search through the 9000 files and 260 directories.

Problem is that its a two step solution
If you want to filter for, say, *.exe files you would hit Ctrl+F12 and type in *.exe. If I want to filter for directories I would hit Ctrl+F12 and type in what?

May be I miss something very important in your explanation, but this sum has absolutely trivial solution.

1. Find Files | Search &for: *foo*
2. Find Files | Advanced | A&ttributes: | &Directory
3. Save it.

And select the filter you saved from already existing ones.

So if I missed something, please tell me, what exactly.[/face]

With "Find Files" and "Expand selection" such filters work like they should to. Ergo the logic is right . So this is the bug.[/face]

Even with my barely avarage TC skills I've been faced to the same problem of creating an filter for specific directories...
And found this strange behavior pretty confusing.

Hope that some unique solution for the "filters" will occur soon
(e.g. That filters for files/dirs work the same way as filters for selections, color filters & search)

Well, me too.

I think a simple directory attribute override could be nice so there would be 4 options for the attribute:

1. Do not include in filter (Disabled)
2. Exclude directories (filter out dirs e.g. they won't be displayed)
3. Directories only (no files)
4. Ignore directory attribute (TC specific, filter applies to files only) <- DEFAULT!

The difference between 1 and 4 is simple:
in case 1 the filter would apply to any kind of attribute e.g. dirs too
and 4 is clear then

This way the filters can be in all cases the same or did I miss some possibility?
Yes the functionality would differ from the previous versions But this is a "clean" solution e.g. no inconsistencies between filtering methods...
