when viewing images in directories with large numbers of images, the view sometimes gets stuck halfway through before or after scrolling and does not display image thumbnails for some items.

It usually means that one of the thumbnail extractors (Total Commander plugins, Explorer extensions) has troubles with one of the images in there
Do you get thumbnails when you copy some of these files to an empty folder? If not, what about when you close Total Commander while in this folder, and then re-open it? This resets the thumbnail extraction thread.
