Default Lister for a Filetype and Switching Listers in Quick View Panel
I have Imagine Lister with WebP plugin installed as one of my Lister plugins. I cannot see WebP files when I press Ctrl+Q. I can view a WebP file using F3, but I need to press 4 to switch viewers to Imagine. I have two questions:
1. How can I switch viewers in Quick View Panel or have it use Imagine for WebP files?
2. How can make TC use Imagine when I press F3 on a WebP file without the need to switch viewers with 4?
Thank you in advance.

Re: Default Lister for a Filetype and Switching Listers in Quick View Panel
2 points to verify:
- You should verify that webP extension is registered with imagine.Open %commander_ini% or use tools like plugman or ultra TC Configuration Editor. (replace xxx by the registered position for imagine)
Code: Select all
xxx=%COMMANDER_PATH%\plugins\wlx\Imagine\Imagine.wlx xxx_detect=MULTIMEDIA | ext="WEBP"
- if you still have some issues, you can reorder an put imagine plugin in top of the list.
Re: Default Lister for a Filetype and Switching Listers in Quick View Panel
- Open a .webp image in the lister with F3
- Menu "Options" - Configure... - Tab "Multimedia" -> [✓] Define view method by file type...
- Click on "Add..."
- Enter *.webp, then click on "OK -> Lister: view methods by file type - Please choose default view modes:
- Enter 4, then click "OK" -> *.webp 4 is shown
- OK, OK - Done!
provided that during the processing of the Lister plugins (.WLX) from top to bottom
there is not another plugin which can also display *.webp images.
Only in this case you would have to change the order, i.e. move the Imagine plugin with the arrow keys ∧∨
to the desired position, which in this case is at the top, above the other plug-in.

Or use the "Define view method by file type" button in Configuration - > Options -> Edit/View -> Configure internal Viewer -> Multimedia (tab). Here you must Add a new type *.webp and choose Imagine.wlx as the prime viewer for this type.
Click on the bar with the file name on top of the image - the press 4 to change plugin.1. How can I switch viewers in Quick View Panel or have it use Imagine for WebP files?
Either put imagine on top on the list in Configuration - > Options -> Plugins -> Lister plugins (WLX) -> Configure ( use the up/down arrows in the lower left corner to sort the plugins)2. How can make TC use Imagine when I press F3 on a WebP file without the need to switch viewers with 4?
Or use the "Define view method by file type" button in Configuration - > Options -> Edit/View -> Configure internal Viewer -> Multimedia (tab). Here you must Add a new type *.webp and choose Imagine.wlx as the prime viewer for this type.

Re: Default Lister for a Filetype and Switching Listers in Quick View Panel
I think I still haven't understood the statements.
But if it should be the "Plugins" menu via which "Imagine" is to be selected,
then this selection would only apply once.
At the latest after a TC restart, for example, the order from top to bottom would apply again,
i.e. if the PhotoViewer plugin was positioned BEFORE (above) Plugin Imagine,
then *.webp images would be opened with the PhotoViewer plugin.
In my opinion, Imagine can therefore only be temporarily set as the "prime viewer for this type" if you use menu "Plugins".
I don't think you should take the text "... choose Imagine.wlx as the prime viewer for this type" literally.
What is surely meant here is the following:
If the file type *.webp is set to default view mode: 4, and you want to use the plugin "Imagine" as a lister, then you have
to put this plugin at the top of the list - before any other lister plugins - that can also display *.webp images in the lister.

You still missed the option under default view mode: 4tuska wrote: ↑2022-05-27, 13:07 UTC What is surely meant here is the following:

Its contains a sub-menu which lists all available plugins.
There you select the plugin you want as default for a certain extension.
This is not dependend on the position of plugins in the list.

See: https://madsenworld.dk/tcmd/methodbyfiletype.pngI don't know such a function yet.
How do you do that?

Thanks for the explanation!
I actually missed that point.

Thank you for the image which is also an optimal explanation for me!
This is the perfect method for me to display .webp images with the plugin "Imagine".
The plugin order is then irrelevant.
(The method I gave above also works, but requires prior knowledge in the sense that you know,
that the plug-ins are processed from top to bottom).
Thanks again!
