Total Commander changing file date/time with drag'n'drop

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Total Commander changing file date/time with drag'n'drop

Post by *campamax »

Hello.
I am using TC 9.50 on Windows 7, and I stepped into a very annoying bug.

When drag'n'dropping a file from MS Outlook on Windows Explorer, the original file date/time are mantained; if (as I usually do) the file is drag'n'dropped from Outlook into TC, the date is changed to the current timestamp.

Is there a way to avoid this issue?

Thanks a lot in advance

This means that Outlook sends multiple clipboard formats via Drag&Drop, and the one used by TC doesn't contain a timestamp, while the one accepted by the Explorer contains one. Unfortunately I don't have Outlook, so I cannot say which file formats are involved. There is no documentation which clipboard formats are preferred by the Explorer.

Thanks a lot for your answer.
I wish a solution will be found, sooner or later.

In Microsoft® Outlook® LTSC MSO (16.0.14332.20324) 64-bit, part of Microsoft Office LTSC Professional Plus 2021,
after drag and drop from Outlook 2021 to Windows Explorer (Windows 11 Pro) the current date and time will be
displayed in the file properties on the "General" and "Details" tabs in Windows Explorer (Windows 11 Pro).

This corresponds to the behavior in Total Commander (x64, x86) 10.50RC4.
