Is safe to manually delete TC thumbnail cache?

Post by *TheOwner »

Hello,
as tittle says, is completely safe to delete thumbnail cache located in %localappdata%/GHISLER ? There are two files tcthumbs.db and tcthumbs.idb.
Can i delete both? Thank you.

It is safe, but they will be recreated.
You need do disable caching in the settings for not recreating them again.

Thanks for answer, i know that it can be disabled. Also i want to ask, why sometimes those files are created and sometimes not? It has something to do with Windows explorer which creates its own thumbnails so TC not create its own? I just noticed, when i browse my folders only in TC, thumbnails are created also by Windows explorer. I want to know principe how it works. Thank you so much.

TC and Explorer thumbnail caches have nothing in common. TC caches the thumbs on the first opening in thumbnail view.

Maybe explorer caches if you've disabled internal and lister method for creating thumbnails and use the explorer method.
