Can't delete because the Folder is in use by TC itself

Post by *Henry7 »

I am running TC 10.50 64-bit only, no other applications. Windows 10.

Let's say I have these folders:

Code: Select all

C:\P\Q\R
I am in folder Q.
I select R and hit F8 (delete) to delete folder R.
I get a confirmation dialog "Are your sure?"
I hit No because I actually want to delete Q.
I go up one folder, so now I am in folder P.
I select Q and hit F8 (delete) to delete folder Q.
"Are you sure?" <-- Yes

"The action can't be completed because the folder or a file in it is open in another program"

If I close TC and re-open it, I can delete folder Q.

Hi Henry7,
Are you perhaps using QuickSearch eXtended?
You can use a tool like LockHunter to see what is locking a folder.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Not confirmed. Tried with F8/Delete to recycle bin, and Shift+F8/Delete directly.

Also not confirmed.
QuickSearch eXtended is installed but doesn't matter in this scenario
Windows 11 Home x64 Version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3374)
TC 11.03 x64 / x86
Everything 1.5.0.1371a (x64), Everything Toolbar 1.3.2, Listary Pro 6.3.0.69
QAP 11.6.3.2 x64

It happened again today.
According to Handle from Sysinternals, the folder is in use by crashpad_handler.exe.
This seems to be part of the Google Drive service. I'll do some research around that.
