Find files not working with . (dot)

Post by *Laszlo »

So lets say there is a directory named "c:\aaa.bbb"

Open commands \ search (so find files, alt+f7)

search for: aaa - founds the directory

search for aaa. (with a dot) - no result

search for aaa.bbb - founds the directory

So searching for something ending with a dot not works in find files.

Help - Find files: General wrote: When the search string contains a dot, Total Commander will look for the exact name match.
So aaa. searches for files with name "aaa" and without extension.

TC assumes that aaa. is the name before an extension.
Try aaa.*. and it will be find.
Btw. ed: or ev: Everything search in TC finds aaa.

Moved to the English forum.
Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
