Folder thumbnails [Suggestion]

Post by *gbo »

With the latest release of Windows 11 (22H2), it is again possible to to display folder thumbnails that allow previewing files inside a folder.
But the folder icons choosen by Microsoft hide half the picture (folder.jpg).
There is a hack that allow to choose another folder icon, I successfully installed it but unfortunately it is only working with file explorer.
Total Commander keep the default folder icon, I was wondering if it will be possible to change that.

There is no Windows hack necessary to have folder icons.
My other file manager (XYplorer) does it already.
This thread should be move to suggestions.

The hack is only for Explorer filemanager to have a different icons for folder.

Out of curiosity for which tasks do you use XYplorer instead of TC?

Viewing images has a lot of better functions than TC.
Also its internal scripting language is superior compared to using Auto-Hotkey with TC.
But I still use TC for most of my daily file management tasks.

Hi Horst,

Thanks for the feedback, I have started playing with XY and indeed it is quite good for managing Media.
