TC can't calculate hidden used space in internal storage

Internal storage is 10GB, free is 2GB, used is 8GB, but TC shows only 4GB used???
The android smartphone is not rooted!
What can be the problem and why TC can't find the others used 4GB in internal storage of the phone???

1.In the root of Internal storage there are 13 directories;
2.I am using Add new button and type:"Internal command" and Command: N 115 to automatic calculate directory size of each of these 13 directories
3.The summary of occupied/used space of these 13 directories is 4GB
4.The total internal storage is 10GB
5.BUT the free space is ONLY 2GB
=>TC can't calculate the hidden 4GB

Hmm, my TC 3.40b4 shows free space / total space - not used space / total space.
And the free space that TC shows is in accordance with what the phones own applications tells.

When I click my new button (made in step 2) which auto calculate the sizes of all directories in the root of the Internal storage!

Yes, but that only gives the size of each directory - do you then add up all those 13 directories manually?

I don't understand your question - I have 13 directories with total of 4GB used space, I have 10GB total Internal storage, TC and default file manager in Android show 2GB free => so where are the others 4GB?
Is that a bug in TC and these 13 directories are with wrong calculated sizes?

Looks like this doesn't work if you need root rights. e.g. if you want to see the folder sizes of all subfolders in the app folder.

@AntonDudarenko Thank you so much for your clearance. The problem apparently is that Internal command N 115 does NOT works correct with unrooted android devices!

No, the problem is that there are many files hidden from the user, e.g. all the installed apps and their private data under /data/data aren't visible this way.

But this explanation is revealed precisely in your own quoted words, that without root such an action cannot be performed in full.
So why start the phrase with the word "NO"?

Root doesn't matter here - TC does not enumerate the size of these folders with root functions either, it would be way too slow.

what does this mean??? I do not know which kind of "special" functions here can be applied. I just understand what IF I said to app's function "do enum to me" all folders and files starting from the / - then only IF the android was rooted - only then this function can get the access to the really ALL folders and ALL files - which in another case would be completely inaccessible for this action.
