The icon is not restored after overwriting the file

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

The icon is not restored after overwriting the file

If I overwrite the .ico file, the original image remains. After restarting TC it is already correct.

Confirmed using TC 10.52.
It seems that cm_ReloadFileIcons also doesn't update the icons of .ico files.

(The subject of your thread is a bit confusing. You may want to edit your post and in the Subject field change "restored" to "updated".)

Indeed it's a bug in the Windows icon cache and cannot be fixed, except for restarting Total Commander.
