Keep Copy/Download etc date/Time

Post by *Biggles »

When I copy over files from one place to another the original time/date stamp isn't kept. It takes the present time/date .
It's been doing it for years but no has finally bugged me enough to find out where the setting is (I can not find anything to do with this).
Thanks!

In TotalCommader press F1
-> Configuration and Switches
-> Ini file setings
Beware its 3(!) pages of settings :-) but thankfully CTRL+F works in the help.

Code: Select all

CopyBlockSize=
Sets block size for copying (in kbytes=1024 bytes). Default and minimum is 32 (=32768 bytes).

It is called wincmd.ini - you can find it's location via the menu: "Help" (in the upper right corner) -> "About Total Commander" -> "Settings files:"

If you mean if there is a file explaining all the options? then it is in the Help: "4. Configuration and switches" - "INI-File settings: wincmd.ini (1: Configuration A-M, 2: N-Z, 3: the rest), wcx_ftp.ini (for FTP)"

Also check Ultra TC Configuration Editor from Ultra TC Editors.
https://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=4914
It contains all configuration options, even disabled ones, with explanations and used default values.

Can't seem to edit my post:
Just realized that the options under copy/delete keep time/date were already set.
I just copied over a backup of wincmd.ini from a backup and it has todays date.
Did I miss something?
