[TC 10.52] Freeze when deleting files with MediaAudio2

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

[TC 10.52] Freeze when deleting files with MediaAudio2

Post by *petermad »

This bug I only applies to my Samsung S20 with Android 13 (I have no such problems with my HTC One M8, and my Huawei Honor 7 both with Android 6)

If I connect to my Samsung S20 phone via MediaAudio2 (v. 1.4) and copy a (small) file from the PC to the phone, and shortly after try to delete the file on the phone (or any other file in the same folder), then TC freezes. If I unplug the device, then TC unfreezes, but if I don't unplug and try to do anything else in TC it crashes.

I can reproduce it every time with both 32bit and 64bit TC 10.52 under both Windows 7 and Windows 10 22H2.

It doesn't really matter what operation I try to perform in the folder on the phone after the first operation - delete files, copy to or from the phone or overwrite files. It might not happen for the first action you do, so try a couple.

If I wait long enough (1min, 15 secs) when TC freezes, and I don't do anything else, then the operation is actually finished - and after that I don't encounter more freezes, until I disconnect and reconnect the phone.

I don't know whether this is an Android 13 issue or a Samsung issue - or both.

Sounds like another bug of Android 13 MTP. I'm using Microsoft's MTP library, so I doubt that I can do anything about it.
