Control Panel Power Options applet in toolbar

Post by *DRP535 »

How can I get a shortcut tile in the TC toolbar to directly access the Power Options applet within Control Panel without having to first open Control Panel to click the Power Options one?

If you want the Metro Settings dialogs you can use commands like

Code: Select all

ms-settings:powersleep
ms-settings:batterysaver
instead of powercfg.cpl

TC 11.03 32+64bit on Win XP 32bit & Win 7, 8.1 & 10 (22H2) 64bit, 'Everything' 1.5.0.1371a
TC 3.50b4 on Android 6 & 13
Try: TC Extended Menus | TC Languagebar | TC Dark Help | PHSM-Calendar

What are metro settings? Is that a Winblows 10 thing? I'm on Winborg 7 desktop and batterysaver setting and powersleep setting foes not sound relevent to me.

Yes - it is all those Apps introduced in Windows 8, and are not standalone executables. In my experience Metro Apps are considerably slower than . exe files (on older hardeware at least).

In Windows 10/11 most of the settings is now done via such Metro interface, and fewer and fewer settings can be performed via dood old Control Panel.
