Adding *.mkv to em_ext_show_videos

I've searched the web and the forum for answers to this question without any luck.

I would like to have em_ext_show_videos show MKV video files (*.mkv) in addition to all the other types/extensions. Tried various ways to do this without success. I am using the extended english menus by petermad (if this makes a difference).

Also can anyone recommend a plugin that will show the duration of videos.

- go to the Language folder
- look for the INI-file in question
- open the INI and search in there for "[em_ext_show_videos]"
- search next for "cmd=cd *.3g*"
and add " *.mkv"
to get "cmd=cd *.3g* *.mkv *.amc *.as? *.avi .... and the rest"

You cannot add *.mkv to the em_ext_show_videos via the "Commands" -> "Choose Internal Command" (cm_CommandBrowser) because the edit field for the Command has a limit to the number of characters it can show and edit. But you can add *.mkv to the em_ext_show_videos command directly in the wcmd_win10amd64_1_eng.ini file using a text editor.

If you are using my Extended Menu you can open the correct ini file via the menu: "Preferences" -> "Change Settings Files" -> "User Commands )language\...)"

You can find several "MediaInfo" based plugins on TotalCmd.net

Like MediaInfo or TCMediaInfo
