is it possible to update from 8.52a to 10.52 without lost any preferences ?
hi,
i actually use the 8.52a release on windows x64.
can i directly install the 10.52 and KEEP all my preferences/setting or will i lost some of them ?
Will My membership/registred account (wincmd.key since 2008 !) still work after the update ?
Best regards

Yes. No problem.
Read the History.txt for any change which may affect you. (~3500 lines since 2016 / 8.52a)
And you may also want to copy first your whole TC-folder for an backup and take care to also backup your wincmd.ini

Yes, all Total Commander versions are always backwards compatible. Going back to an older version also works without problems, but you may lose some settings like the cursor position in the directory history when going back.

thank you both for the replies.
i did not update earlier because i did not receive any newletters at all since 2y.
Even i did not receive the forum notification this week. I check my email and all is correct, no spam at all. is there a problem somewhere ?
Maybe the board did not send email to nobody.

Sorry, I had to stop sending out newsletters because more and more were blocked by spam filters. I described this in the last mailing and informed users about the new auto update checks, but apparently you didn't receive that mail (due to a spam filter?)...
