Cannot copy/move files in C

Hello All,
i am using the latest version of the program and i am encountering
problems if i want to copy or move a file either big or small into the root of the C drive.
It does'nt happen if i try yo copy or move into the folder.
Evertime i try i get the error as show below:

This does'nt happen if i try to copy ot move a file i the C drive with the Explorer File.
The C drive has all the permissions.
Please any help how to avoid it?

Thats normal, the root is write proteced.
Normaly there comes an UAC prompt.
So you have set the UAC to a useless value or disabled.

Otherwise, the OP might temporarily run Total Commander "As Administrator" to perform those particular operations [without touching their UAC settings].

You can actually create folders in c:\ without root, just not files! It's probably a security feature, so people can't create a file c:\program.exe which would be launched when using a path like c:\program files\app\app.exe without double quotes.

Maybe the restriction goes back to the use of FAT 16 which could only hold a maximum of 512 files with 8.3 filenames and less with long file names.
