BUG when MOVING files

Post by *knn »

I use TC 10.52. The bug appears with Standard/Default/Big File Copy Mode.

When I move (F6) a folder from

X:\YYY\FOLDER --> X:\ZZZ\FOLDER

...TC does one of 4 things:

1) Move it instantaneously (correct)
2) Move each file one by one (unnecessary but works)
3) Pops up a window whether to skip existing files (wrong since there are no double files) and when I choose SKIP it then skips all files and moves not a single file (wrong)
4) If I choose SKIP ALL in the F6 menu (= before moving) then it works

I have made a video of this strange behavior. PM me for the URL or reply where I can upload the .mp4

This happens when the source folder is locked when you confirm the F6 dialog, e.g. press F6, Enter too quickly. TC is then still busy counting the files inside. This specific problem should be fixed in TC11 beta.
I do not have problem 3, can you give me more details?

To clarify what I am doing in that video clip: I am simply moving a folder (F6), switching to the other window pane and moving it back. Back and forth then cancelling in the middle of the move and the pressing F6 again while standing on the partially moved folder. Back and forth until the bug appears.

Is this related to TC values being negative (= lower than zero)?

BTW the format you chose for that mp4 file is not very practical - it will not play directly in any browser - I have to download it, and play it in TC's internal player or or MPC

The overwrite warning seems to come because you aborted many transfers - normally TC deletes partially moved files, but sometimes this can be prevented by e.g. a virus scanner.

1) I had my virus scanner turned off during this move experiment.
2) I retried this experiment again, and when the "SKIP ALL" Dialogue appeared I made a file-folder-comparison to find out which files caused the dialogue. There were no double files, only double folders but no double files. The dialogue makes no sense.
